If the leak has been diagnosed as coming from the engine rear cover assembly, refer to engine rear cover replacement in si and remove the engine rear cover assembly. I have had it for about 30k of those miles and have changed the oil at least. Having a pretty nasty oil leak on the truck I've replaced the oil cooler block gasket twice now (added some permatex high temp gasket maker this time) and this leak is sealed up Cleaned everything up thinking that's where the oil all over the back of the pan and bell housing was coming from.

I guess if things look dry in there you can rule out the rear main seal but about all you can see is the flexplate teeth I wonder if you are getting a leak from around the oil pressure sending unit on the top back of the engine on driver's side? In this video i show how to locate and repair an oil leak that looks like it's coming from between the rear of an ls engine and the front of its automatic transmission.
